Although most of the handouts are from way back or not complete, some of them are not even readable any more ,but still we as teacher find a way to make use of them.
Many of these readers are from way back or not supported with the new age I.T software. These obstacles form a headache for many of the students and even for me as a teacher. Demotivation and distraction where one of most common reasons with led to skipping classes and not doing well in that lesson.
On the new ict -course I learned some tools and handy ways how to make use of the internet and how to introduce my lesson with more flair.
So I tried some of these tools out to look how convenient it is and how it worked before using it officially.
Now putting it to the test...
After many trials and attempts, coming to class attempting to satisfy and empress my students with the new learned tool was the challenge.
I started my class with the new improved digital introduction of the lesson,without questioning i could read their minds. They where astonished, amazed and surely eager to learn more.
This triggered me as a teacher to go further ...to push for more. So I made good use of my popplet tool.
At first I gave turns to some students to tell me in two minutes about a subject they chose. After that I opened popplet and together we addressed a theme and while working with the tool, the students had to attempt it by there self. At first they had issues with inserting videos and images, but true repeating the progress and attempts,they eventually understood the tool.
At the evaluation I asked the class what they thought of the tool and it's benefits. The answers where: mind blowing, interesting and they are motivated to learn more about these ict - tech tools. This is for me more prove that I have to upgrade my IT skills and do my lessons in a more effective, efficient and interactive way then before to challenge these students. For me more then enough to go for it.
